"Organic" food has also changed because the word "organic" is no longer synonymous with locally grown food. In fact, we actually see large corporate farms replacing smaller independently-run farms. California's $400 million organic produce market is now controlled by five massive organic farms, and Horizon Organic controls over 70% of our nation's organic milk market, with over 30% of its milk coming from two factory-style dairy farms with approximately 5000 cows each. This is far from the ideal of supporting small and local farmers.

It's a little off-topic, but I notice a similar trend among what I'll call "macrobrewers in disguise." You've seen them: the dozen-odd varieties of Michelob (Amber Bock, Porter, and such), and some more subtly branded brews in which the name of the giant corporation is hidden, or at least de-emphasized.
Both instances show a lack of forthrightness, to say the least.
It gets harder and harder to source decent food produced without cruelty. Same here in the UK. Makes me very depressed sometimes. Everything good has to be faked. It's all image and no substance. Going to make a cup of tea now and hope my tea leaves weren't picked by child labour *sigh*
