Here is the finished Roman shade. I managed to mess up a few times-learning by my mistakes. Didn't exactly use the recommended nylon string (used pretty ribbon!), I added slats from the old mini blind because without some stiffening the folds of the shade aren't as neat as I wanted... But it's very pretty, and works well. Much better that those ugly mini-blinds! Please forgive the dangling light cord and unpainted walls and uncovered outlet.
I want to make another...maybe something for my new friend Caitlyn, who needs shades over her kitchen sink as well.
